Eek is not only economical, he challenges himself as a designer to make use of differently shaped and sized material. He has previously said that the size of his company has been incidental to its methodology. In a similar way, the size of each scrap is incidental to production at large. It is the size and shape of the scrap, however, that determines the overall design. Eek’s furniture tends to be straight-edged. In past collections, irregularly shaped pieces have been used and carefully aligned. As with all his work, this wooden coffee table is made from lacquered pieces of all colors and finishes. The main difference is that these are relatively the same size; rectangular, like the table.
