This left-hand glove from an Orlan (Bald Eagle) EVA Space Suit was produced by NPP Zvezda as part of the Orlan space suit, a semi-rigid one-piece space suit. The glove is fabricated from nylon lined with rubber, and features rubber fingertips, anodized aluminum wrist coupling, insulated nylon gauntlet, pebbled rubber grip pads, and flap with velcro closures at back of hand. At 15.5 inches in length, it includes the serial number ГЛ-7К-11Б-1150234 at the hem, identifying it was part of the Model 7K suit. The first spacewalk using an Orlan suit took place on December 20, 1977, on the Soviet space station Salyut 6, during the Soyuz 26 mission. According to the company, the suit, now updated and adapted, continues to be used by Russian, American, European and Chinese astronauts.
