“Hydro Dipz” series is playing with the hydrographic transferring process. A thin film can be seamlessly applied onto 3D surfaces as a means of superficial decoration. The finish is form of value alchemy: objects can divorce themselves from their ’authentic’ material properties and take on another material symbolism. We can now scroll through and assign textures in a similar way to a digital rendering of a computer-modeled object. “HD Shelf” is a stack of eight independent rotating aluminum boxes, displaying a different material identity depending on its orientation.
