Continuing the “Flame Cut” series, Tom Dixon also incorporated kitchenware into his kit of resilient flame cut furniture for Sudely Castle. The flame cut process is itself a long-lived tech- nique. This six-bottle wine rack is made from two pieces of heavyweight perforated steel separated and held together using simple joints. Compared to the “Flame Cut Lamp,” the steel is blackened. The four bolted screws and natural waxed finish lends it a simple, industrial quality. The wine rack looks like a found, rather than a new object, designed to erase time completely.
