Contemporary design, particularly that of Studio Job, has been the basis for Sergio Herman’s culinary artworks. The molds that Studio Job designed for his dishes, such as his large chocolate coin, are a metaphor for this. The unanticipated nature of Studio Job’s designs not only inspire the chef, they also stimulate the senses of the diner. In 2012, Studio Job and Royal Tichelaar Makkum created a complete service of white porcelain plates with iconography on each, referring to the creative collaboration with the Michelin-star chef. Studio Job have arranged the plates in order of width as an étagère, or cake display, supported by a stand of polished bronze, especially for Chamber. The end result is slightly askew, which only adds character to the presentation.
