Origin: Zurich, Switzerland
Trix and Robert Haussmann’s “Die Urkiste nach dem Sündenfall” is part of a series of variations of a plain box with a seemingly missing corner. The Swiss architects request you to pay attention to the simple form of each box and its corners: one of them with a mirror; the other one cut out. The crate plywood boxes are made in Zurich with highest perfection and by excellent manual skills. The mirror that they describe as virtual material reflects three different dimensions in every space like a diamond projecting value by its surface. The Haussmann’s are working since years on theoretical basics of design and visual perception. In order to create new impressions, they are disturbing habitual views and customary thinking in form of models and objects.
