When working with NSEPS, a textile moulded thermoplastic technique and material that Silo Studio developed to use an industrial material in a hands on or craft way, they were occupied with making functional objects that challenged furniture whilst still retaining plenty of form type under standability. Sometimes whilst researching through making, Silo Studio explores the unpredictability of NSEPS. “Chicken” is an experiment that embodies many of the techniques that were not appropriate for making furniture but were too interesting to us to disregard.
