The Chateau Series show small scale ceramic versions of bouncy castles on ecclectic plinths. Each chateau is a mixed-media-scultpure, a material sandwich made of colored terracota, asphalt and steel. Bouncy castles reflect two of the most fundamentally felt urges of our society: Fun and safety – two concepts that often get in conflict with each other. “Maybe the growing popularity of bouncy castles is an answer to those two contradictory terms. Yet it might also be a hint to the subtle refeudalisation of the world we live in,” says the Chramosta.
