Tomáš Gabzdil Libertíni (b. 1979, Slovakia) studied design and engineering at the Technical University Košice in Slovakia, painting and sculpture at the University of Washington, Seattle, and obtained his MFA from the Design Academy Eindhoven. In 2007, he founded Studio Libertini Rotterdam, the Netherlands, through which he explores the relationship between nature and technology. His works are part of the collections of the MoMA, New York; the Cincinnati Art Museum; and CIC Rotterdam, among others. “My creative passions are in two parallel worlds: physical and philosophical, or theoretical,” says Libertíni. “I am just as interested in structures, materials and building processes as I am in the human soul, religion, and beauty.”
