Upon graduating from The Design Academy Eindhoven in 1991, Richard Hutten, hailed as ‘the new Rietveld’, set up his own design studio in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Hutton works on a variety of projects, from industrial design to furniture, with recent projects for Lensvelt, Artifort and Dutch Originals. In 1997, he completed his first major interior design project: the restaurant of the Centraal Museum in Utrecht. He continued to design interiors for several other museums, as his own work featured in solo and group exhibitions and in more than fifteen museum collections . Hutten has been a key member of Droog Design since its beginning in 1993, as well as the art director of NgispeN. With all his expertise and many awards, the Dutch designer has taught and lectured at many design institutes across the world.
