Peter Marigold (b. London, 1974) is an industrial designer based in London. He has an MA in design products from the Royal College of the Arts, and a BA in sculpture from Central St. Martins. Marigold has worked with various media throughout his career, but is most interested currently in low-temperature thermoplastic. “I have entered into the maker community where people are just making crazy things in their kitchens and backyards,” he says. “I think more than anything it reflects the spirit of human creativity in the face of mass passive consumerism.” His FORMcard, a pocket-sized card of meltable bioplastic that melts in hot water and cools to solid, with myriad applications, was named one of the “Kings of Kickstarter.” His work has been featured in Wired, the Guardian, Domus, and the New York Times.
