Oszkar Vagi (b. 1975, Budapest), with degrees from the Accademia dell Arte Florence, Italy, and at the Deutsche Meisterschule in Munich, is founder and creative director of o-bjekt design studio in Budapest. His work at o-bjekt is dedicated to furniture and interior design, which he approaches with attention to natural materials. Vagi emphasized that “the interiors we live in and the objects that surround us have the most intensive influence on our mood and daily life.” He finds that mass-produced, machine-made products made of synthetic materials are devoid of energy, while objects that are “handmade, with care and with the energy of dedicated craftsmanship are spiritually and energetically a lot more valuable.”
