Nicolás Aracena Müller - Featured Artist - Chamber Gallery

Nicolás Aracena Müller (b.1984) is a designer from Santiago, Chile. Since studying architecture in Berlin in 2007, Aracena Müller has expanded his practice to include architecture and carpentry. Aracena Müller’s practice is notably DIY. He has pioneered several different projects, including the transformation of abandoned houses previously awaiting demolition into woodshops and studio spaces in Santiago. In 2008, Aracena Müller founded Losgogo, a design studio that produces furniture, wooden surfboards and miscellaneous objects, from wallets to skate ramps. Most recently, he has collborated with artists, architects, and designers to reconstruct public space that were destroyed by devastating fire in low-income neighborhoods in Valparaiso, Chile. For his newest endeavor, FONDA, Aracena Müller and architect Cristobal Martinez plan to develop small architecture projects and furniture. Aracena Müller’s work has been showcased in numerous exhibitions, including Remade in Galería Animal (2010), Galería de Diseño of the Centro Cultural Palacio la Moneda (2011), Sobremesa in Galeria Praxis in Buenos Aires (2013), and in Area Santiago at the Municipal Theater of Santiago (2014).
