Louie Rigano & Gil Muller - Artists - Chamber Gallery

Louie Rigano and Gil Muller met while studying product design at the Royal College of Art in London. Louie (b.1988, New Jersey, USA) studied Industrial Design at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) and later apprenticed under a master potter and furniture maker in Japan on a Fulbright Fellowship. Gil (b.1990, Bern, Switzerland) gained experience working in the area of jewelry design in Switzerland as well as product design in London, Germany and Japan. Gil has been awarded a Jasso Scholarship to study in Kyoto, Japan and his work has been exhibited and published internationally. With a shared interest in material research and traditional craft approaches to design, they founded Shore, a company whose ethos is centered on the use of high-performance materials to augment the efficacy of domestic objects. It is their ambition to utilise these materials in ways that make full use of their inherent capabilities and aesthetic potential. The aim is to re-engineer the home from a simultaneously aesthetic and functional outlook.
