Liz Collins (b. 1968, Bethesade, MD) is an artist, designer and educator, who enjoys pushing the limits across the spectrum of textile media. She graduated from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in Textiles in 1999, when she simultaneously launched her knitwear label. Collins’s artworks surround the viewer in vibrating color fields to explore the boundaries between painting, fiber arts and installation. Her work has been exhibited at the Tang Museum at Skidmore, Heller Gallery, The Textiles Arts Center, The Museum of Arts and Design, New York, The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, The Leslie Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art, New York among others.
