Julius Vermeulen

Julius Vermeulen is a graphic designer and an art and design advisor for the Dutch Postal service (Post NL), where he has been responsible for the company branding and commissioning post stamp designs since 1989. He managed Post TNT’s art collection until 2011 and founded, www.iconenvandepost.nl, a website on design history. Occasionally designing stamps himself, he has curated the cultural ephemera at the ‘Dutch Design’ exhibition for Post TNT at the Moma Cafe in New York in 1995 and ‘Art by Mail’ at Museum Escher Paleis in The Hague in 2006. From 1999-2003, he was on the committee of BKVB (the Fund for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture). Based in Amsterdam, Vermeulen has lectured across the world and has strong ties to Academies of Fine Arts in Amsterdam, Arnhem, Utrecht and The Hague.
