Johanna Grawunder

Johanna Grawunder (b. 1961, San Diego, USA) is a designer and architect based between Milan, Italy and San Francisco, USA. Her work spans from large-scale installations, architecture and interiors, to limited edition furniture, lights and custom commissions. Grawunder worked with Sottsass Associati in Milan from 1985-2001, becoming a partner in 1989, where she was involved with architecture and interior projects. In 2001 she left the company to open her own studio in San Francisco and Milan. Grawunder has designed products for companies, such as Flos, Boffi, and Glas Italia among others. Her work is part of the permanent collections of Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Centre national des arts plastiques (CNAP), San Francisco Museum of Art (SFMOMA), Art Institute Chicago, and The High Museum Atlanta.
