Hilda Hellström (b. 1984 Gothenburg, Sweden), based in Copenhagen, Denmark graduated from The Royal College of Art in London in 2012. In her work Hellström plays with the undefinable in regards to materials, hierarchies, value systems and definitions. She studies geology and rock formation, and finds that the incredible rigidity in rocks is actually in constant motion. One could say that Hellström studies nature as if its processes belonged to those of a craftsman. She recreates movements of nature, appropriated into processes that are specific to her practice. Her work has been exhibited at London Design Museum, MUDAC Lausanne, V&A, The British Craft Council, Gothenburg Museum of Art, MAK Vienna and Shanghai Power Station Art Museum among others.
