Belgian designer Davy Grosemans is interested in archetypes, objects that don’t look designed at all. He instills his designs with an almost iconic quality, that makes them instantly recognizable but alienating at the same time. Until 1999, he studied at the MAD-Faculty of Genk. In 2009, having already received three IFs, among other awards, Grosemans was the first designer to win the IF Gold Award. Based in Brussels, Grosemans founded Das Ding in 2011. Das Ding’s eccentric designs have been exhibited as far as China, Singapore, Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
