In 2013, Anthony Bianco (Chicago, 1980) founded Bianco Light and Space, a sculpture and design studio in Brooklyn. He has a BFA from the California College of the Arts and has taught at various institutions across the U.S., including New York University, New York’ MoMA, and Public Glass in San Francisco. As indicated in the name of his studio, the concepts of light and space are key in his practice of designing and making functional and sculptural objects, often in a minimalistic aesthetic. Although he works with a variety of materials, Bianco is partial to glass. “The medium captivates and inspires and humbles me,” he says.
